The magic of Rouergue

You will enjoy a real country stay at the Saint-Saturnin castle in the vicinity of a small village of farmers. The property is a large mansion displaying an outdated charm and settled amid a generous nature.

After having left Saint-Saturnin-de-Lenne you will cross the Causse of Séverac. This plateau is towered by the Puech of Montgrand. After the Lagarde pass you will travel down to Séverac-le-Château a medieval town fortified in the past. Its old houses stand alongside the side streets which will lead you throu vaulted passages to the foot of the castle.

On the Palassy pass you will gain some altitude before reaching the valley of la Varairous. This stream reinforced by the Bouxell flow feeds the Pont-de-Salars lake a major site of vacation. Then you will travel along the Bage lake. The road provide a unique view over the lake before sinking in a countryside scattered of helmets and towns bearing evocative names : Trémouilles, Salmiech ou Cassagnes-Bégonhès.

Further you will reach the valley of Viaur, famous for its viaduct, a daring work of art by Paul Bodin a Gustave Eiffel’s follower. Before arriving in Camjac do not miss the Bose castle where Toulouse-Lautrec stayed several times.

At last you will arrive in Sauveterre-de-Rouergue, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France.
you will stay at the Sénéchal, at the heart of this royal house which has kept its whole specificity with its archways, its fortifications as well as its keep church.
