Day 2 : SAINTE-ENIMIE - SAINT-SATURNIN-DE-LENNE (108 on 192 km)
After a night in a castle of legend at the heart of an unforgettable panorama in the Gorges of Tarn, you will leave Sainte-Enimie and the Caze castle with some regret to travel towards the limestone plateau of the Causse de Sauveterre.
You will cross Champerboux one of the rare helmet on this wild plateau where the Caussenard habitat is remarkable. Until Champerboux, you will only meet shelters for shepherd made of dry stones.
You will reach the pretty valley of Colagne where Marvejols is nestled. The town has kept three fortified doors from the beginning of the XVIIth century and houses with superb façades and wrought-iron balconies.
On leaving Marvejols you will reach the slopes of the des Mounts of Aubrac. The old and beautiful villages Aubrac, sometimes hidden away from the road enable the visitor to discover a genuine architecture. You will drive fairly near from the Baume castle, nicknamed "le Versailles du Guévaudan", one of the most beautiful castle in Lozère.
After Montgrousset fairly near the Déroc cave and the waterfall the road rises towards the wild lake area.
At more than 1000 metre of elevation the dark and deep Salhiens lake, the peaceful lake of Souverols, Saint-Andéol and Born lakes provide a protected and magical setting. In Bonnecombe pass at 1361 metres of elevation The road rises at its highest point revealing a superb panorama.
before driving down towards the Lot and Saint-Saturnin-de-Lenne valley, do stop at the Salces and visit the church, a fully restored masterpiece of the Auvergnat Roman art.
