At Prieuré, an elegant Renaissance manor at the heart of an age-old tree park you will enjoy a unique view over the Loire valley.

Before reaching the banks of the river Loire, have a look at the Chênehutte-les-Tuffeaux church the Itinerary starting point.

Forests, vineyards, prairies and rivers follow each other. You will reach the Saumur labelled vineyards which stretch on the Loire and Thouet hills. As soon as Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent you will have the opportunity to visit cellars dug in the tufa where the producers of brut Saumur brut reveal the different steps displaying the elaboration of their wines.

The galleries dug into the tufa shelter another Anjou speciality : the Paris mushroom.

Discover the Saumur castle which towers above the town and the Cadre Noir of the National riding school, renowned worldwide.

The crossing of both Saumur-Champigny vineyard and an immense forest will lead you the Fontevraud abbey. Nestled in the bottom of the small valley, Fontevraud is one of the most important monastic units in France. Its chevet, a masterpiece of the XIIth century Roman art must be seen.

You will reach the Vienne valley, its cultures, its vineyard, its orchards and the medieval city of Chinon, witness of the History of France, with its immense ruins and its impressive ramparts.

You will cross the forest of Chinon to reach Ussé, the « Sleeping Beauty dormant » castle, the whiteness of which is emphasised by its verdant case. Before reaching the end of the journey you will discover the vineyard of Bourgueil.
